BEST Low cal Ranch Dressing and dip

I am FED UP with "Lite," Low calorie, Fat free and "reduced fat" sauces that just plain suck.

I want my sauces to taste like the sauce they are trying to be, and I don't want to have similar calories to the "regular" sauces or for it to taste like tree gum, water or soy (YECH!).

So, I have been experimenting, and I will keep doing so. When I come across a successful recipe, I will share it with y'all. I am currently working on a low-cal Hoisen sauce (difficult, let me tell you), but I am not there yet.

However, I am there with my Reduced Calorie Hidden Valley Ranch. And let me tell you, it's freaking great.

Cool, refreshing, great (really) as a dip, very low fat, and less than half the calories as regular ranch.

"Serving Size": 2 Tbsp
Calories: 42

Actual Serving Size: 5 Tbsp
Calories: 106

1/3rd cup Light Daisy Sour Cream (106 Cal)
1/3rd cup 1% low fat milk +1 Tablespoon (40 Cal)
2 1/2 Tablespoons hidden valley ranch powder (125 Cal)
1/2 teaspoon onion powder (5 Cal)

Total calories for the entire recipe: 276

Makes 13 Tablespoons

Compare this to regular hidden valley ranch dressing:
"Serving Size" 2 Tbsp
Calories: 140

Actual Serving Size 5 Tbsp
Calories: 350

For a lower calorie version, use 40% Fat Free Hidden Valley Ranch dressing; it will be much better than the fat free by itself, but not nearly as good as my reduced calorie recipe.
